This is the darkest of our single estates. This washed arabica from Moganad estate makes for a very drinkable and balanced cup regardless of the brew method. A good allrounder coffee if you will.
Founded in mid 2018 by Akshay Vaidyanathan and Esarella Fernando; Kapi kottai is an attempt at highlighting the excellence and uniqueness of Indian coffees and get the conversation started about tracability and low environmental impact in the Indian coffee space. They source directly from estates that grow their coffee sustainably under a canopy of native jungle trees. They find that picking and processing being accounted for, native shade and low use of chemicals leads to good terroir and an elevated cup. Being based out of Chennai wheere there is a lot of coffee but very little of it is speciality or traceable, they hope to make the third wave and fourth wave coffee cultures more accessible and hopefully get people wondering where their cuppa joe or tumbler of filter kapi started its journey from.
