I upgraded to the Baratza Encore ESP after using a basic grinder for a few years, and the difference is night and day. The grind consistency is excellent, and it works well for both espresso and pour-over. I love how simple the controls are—just a no-nonsense grinder that does its job well. However, one small thing I noticed is that some fine coffee grounds tend to stick inside the chute, which can be a bit annoying. A quick brush helps, but it would have been great if Baratza had included a simple anti-static mechanism. Other than that, it’s a solid machine for home use. Definitely worth it if you’re serious about your coffee!
i was using Barazta Encore for last 2 /3 years and upgraded to ESP , loved the consistency of my Espresso shots each and every time , very solidly built with high quality ABS / Plastics , any day out beats performance of host of other budget grinders out there , thoroughly enjoying my newly invented recipe called FILPRESSO !!
This is my first proper burr grinder, and I can say the coffee quality has improved significantly! The grind sizes are quite uniform, especially for espresso, and I love how easy it is to adjust the settings. You don’t need to be an expert to use this. The only issue I have is that it can get a little messy. Some coffee grounds spill onto the counter while dispensing, and I have to clean up after every use. It’s not a big deal, but if you like a spotless kitchen, be prepared for a bit of extra effort. That said, the performance is great, and I can finally make café-style coffee at home.
Love the grind consistency.
Makes a noticeable difference in espresso quality. No regrets buying this.
