Coffee Masterclasses and Workshops

Learning to brew well doesn't happen by accident, it comes from hands-on practice, a few good mistakes, and someone experienced enough to explain why they happened. Our coffee workshops are structured, hands-on sessions run by in-house trainers at our Bangalore, Delhi, Hyderabad, and Mumbai locations, whether you're starting your home brewing journey from scratch or want to sharpen a specific skill like latte art.

Our Workshops at a Glance

Workshop Duration Best For Price
Intensive Crop to Cup Workshop 14 hours, 2 days A complete, ground-up understanding of coffee Rs. 14,199
Barista Skills, One Day Training 7 hours Espresso machine operation and shot consistency Rs. 8,299
Barista Skills, Latte Art 7 hours Milk texturing and pour technique specifically Rs. 8,299
Manual Brewing Skills 10:00am to 5:00pm Pour over, French press, and other manual methods Rs. 8,299

Intensive Crop to Cup Workshop

Duration: 14 hours across two days Schedule: Every Saturday and Sunday of the month (you'll be contacted to confirm exact dates)

This is our most comprehensive program, tracing the entire journey of coffee from farm to cup. It covers:

  • Coffee history and coffee in India
  • Green beans: origin, processing, grading, transport, and storage
  • Roasting and blending
  • Tasting and cupping
  • Grinder calibration for both espresso and manual brewing
  • The barista workstation
  • Espresso basics
  • Milk frothing and latte art
  • Manual brewing

Past sessions have included hands-on practice with South Indian filter, Chemex, siphon, V60, French press, and AeroPress, alongside training on a semi-automatic two-group espresso machine. This is the right choice if you want depth across the whole subject rather than one specific skill.

Barista Skills, One Day Training

Duration: 7 hours Schedule: Every Thursday of the month, 10:00am to 5:00pm

A focused introduction to running an espresso-based setup. It covers:

  • Basics of coffee, processing methods, roasting, blending, and tasting
  • Calibration of a semi-automatic machine and grinder
  • Espresso preparation, dosing, grinding, and tamping
  • The classic espresso-based menu, in theory and practice
  • Latte art basics
  • Cleaning machines and accessories

Ideal if your goal is confidently running an espresso machine and grinder at home.

Barista Skills, Latte Art

Duration: 7 hours Schedule: Every Thursday of the month, 10:00am to 5:00pm

A dedicated deep dive into milk work, going well beyond the basics covered in the general Barista Skills session. It covers:

  • Basics of coffee, blends, and cappuccino
  • Espresso technique for grinding and tamping
  • Frothing to SCA (Specialty Coffee Association) standards
  • The basic rules of latte art, including pouring high and steady
  • Making latte art
  • Using the stylus and squeezer for detailed pours

Best suited to anyone who's already comfortable pulling a shot and wants their milk drinks to actually look and taste café-quality.

Manual Brewing Skills

Schedule: Every Thursday of the month, 10:00am to 5:00pm (also available online)

Covers the fundamentals behind every manual brew method rather than just one:

  • Understanding beans, roast, and origin
  • Tasting and cupping
  • How grind size, time, and temperature affect a brew
  • Brewing equipment and technique
  • Hands-on expertise in two manual brew methods
  • Using the same coffee to observe how different variables change the final cup

The online version requires you to already have your own brewing gear, coffee beans, and a grinder before the session.

Who These Workshops Are For

You don't need any prior experience to join. Sessions are built for complete beginners as well as home brewers who already own equipment and want more consistent results. If you're weighing up an espresso machine or grinder purchase, a workshop is also a low-commitment way to get real hands-on time with the gear before you buy.

Sessions run at four locations, our Bangalore studio in Indiranagar, plus Delhi, Hyderabad, and Mumbai. You'll be contacted after booking to confirm your preferred date and location. Bookings can't be cancelled once placed, so it's worth mentioning your preferred city in the order comments at checkout. For more on our locations and events by city, see our Bangalore, Delhi, and Surat events pages, or browse the rest of our coffee training range if you're planning to take more than one session. Once you've built some foundational skill, pairing what you've learned with the right gear at home makes a real difference, whether that's a reliable espresso machine, a consistent grinder, or manual brewing equipment suited to the methods you enjoyed most in the workshop.

FAQ's

Do I need any prior coffee knowledge to join a workshop?
No. The Barista Skills and Manual Brewing sessions start from the basics of coffee itself, roasting, blending, tasting, before moving into technique, so they're built for complete beginners as well as more experienced home brewers.
What's the actual difference between the two Barista Skills workshops?
The One Day Training covers the full espresso workflow, machine calibration, dosing, tamping, and the classic menu, with only a basic introduction to latte art at the end. The dedicated Latte Art session goes much deeper into milk specifically, covering SCA frothing standards and using tools like the stylus and squeezer for detailed pour designs.
Can I take the Manual Brewing Skills workshop online?
Yes, this is the one workshop explicitly offered as an online session, but you'll need to already have your own brewing equipment, coffee beans, and a grinder ready before the session starts.
How many manual brewing methods will I actually learn?
The standalone Manual Brewing Skills workshop builds expertise in two manual brew methods. The 14-hour Intensive Crop to Cup Workshop covers considerably more ground, with past sessions including South Indian filter, Chemex, siphon, V60, French press, and AeroPress.
Can I cancel or change my booking after purchasing a workshop?
No, orders once placed cannot be cancelled according to the terms on each workshop listing, so it's worth confirming your preferred date and location before booking, and mentioning your city choice in the order comments.
