How to use

Rotate and open the lid of the milk container.
Take fresh milk out of the refrigerator and pour it into the container, then close the lid.
Open the upper lid, take out the milk pipe and connect it to the connector on your coffee machine, then gently close the lid.
After use, take off the milk pipe, clean the container and pipe, and store the pipe in the lower lid.

Keeping it clean

Rinse the container and pipe after every session rather than at the end of the day. Dried milk inside a narrow pipe is difficult to shift and turns rancid quickly, and a blocked pipe is the most common reason an automatic milk system stops drawing properly.

Wash with warm soapy water regularly, and run a milk system cleaner through the machine weekly. The machine cleaning range covers solutions formulated for dairy residue, which neither a coffee cleaner nor a descaler will touch.

The Kalerm Milk Container is a 600ml stainless steel vacuum jug built for fully automatic espresso machines with an external milk system. It connects to the machine by a milk pipe, so the machine draws cold milk straight from the container and froths it on demand.
Temperature is the reason it exists. Good milk froth depends on starting from fresh cold milk, and milk left sitting at room temperature next to a warm machine will not texture properly. The vacuum insulation holds the milk cold for most of a day, so the first cappuccino of the morning and the last one of the afternoon come out the same.
It also solves the hygiene problem. Pouring from a jug into an open reservoir means dairy residue sitting in the machine between uses. A sealed container with a lid keeps the milk covered and the pipe stored away when it is not in use.
