Coffee grind size refers to the size of the ground coffee particles, which can range from coarse to fine. The grind size affects how much coffee is in contact with water during brewing, which in turn affects the flavor and strength of the coffee. Different brewing methods require different grind sizes to optimize the extraction process.
Extra fine: Similar to powdered sugar, this is the finest grind size and is used for Turkish coffee.
Fine: Slightly coarser than extra fine, this grind is similar to table salt and is used for espresso machines.
Medium Fine:Coarser than espresso but finer than V60, this grind is used for stovetop and moka pot coffee.
Medium:Similar to granulated sugar, this grind is used for pour-over and drip coffee makers.
Medium-coarse:Coarser than medium and similar to sea salt, this grind is used for Chemex and some pour-over devices.
