Primrose Villas Coffee
The Baganaheddal Coffee Estate is a sprawling plantation nestled at the top of the widely acclaimed Baba Budan Mountain Range, in close proximity to the town of Chikmagaluru in South India’s Karnataka State. The Range is named after the 16th century traveller, Baba Budan. Coffee was introduced to India by Baba Budan when he clandestinely carried seven coffee beans from Yemen and planted them in these mountains more than 400 years ago.
The coffees are organically shade-grown in their premium family-owned estates, hand-picked and shade-dried under the mountain sun for more than 25 days on customised elevated perforated trays prior to being blended by our world-renowned coffee grader.
For over 133 years a single family has created and nurtured one of the World’s finest sustainable coffee estates. Nature’s elements – volcanic soil, high altitude, steep slopes, warm sunshine, forest shade, wind, rain and moisture – have combined to create ideal conditions to grow some of the finest organic Arabicas in the World.
