In 1990, Marc's first visit to India sparked a profound interest in Eastern Philosophy, leading him to settle in Auroville in 1996. There, he actively engaged in community projects while pursuing his passion for coffee.
As the founder of Coffee Ideas! Marc pioneered the roasting of high-quality certified coffees for the Indian Gourmet market. He has consulted on turnkey cafe projects and received recognition for his expertise, including awards from Times Now and the Indian Coffee Festival.
Marc is certified as an Italian Espresso Taster and "Kaapi Shastra" by the Coffee Board of India. He is also the co-founder of Marc’s Cafe, Roast & Taste and Catami, Dreamer’s Cafe, both popular destinations for coffee enthusiasts in Auroville.

Marc Tormo Altimira, a seasoned coffee entrepreneur and roaster, has over 20 years of experience in the specialty coffee industry. His journey began in Barcelona, where he opened a café boutique with his sister at the age of 23.
