About the Expert:
Sharang Sharma is the co-founder of Bloom Coffee Roasters, one of India’s leading specialty coffee roasteries based in Chandigarh. With a background as a musician and singer-songwriter, Sharang brings creativity and storytelling into his approach to coffee. He has trained in SCA Roasting with CoffeeMind in Copenhagen under Morten Munchow,and is passionate about sourcing India’s finest coffees and roasting them to highlight their natural character. At Bloom, he has helped build a network of over 300 cafés and businesses across the country, while also developing new coffee-led spaces that bring people together around community, culture, and craft.
Session Flow:
- Discussion on Post-Harvest Processing and its effect on the quality of coffee
- Cupping of Standard coffees, Arabica & Robusta
- Espresso and Pour-over tasting of Light, Medium and Dark Roasted coffees or 2 Different Blends
- How to evaluate defects in coffee
- Beverage menu buildup & classification
- A Fun Skill Exercise, where the participants will work in groups, to examine how much they have learnt from the day’s program
Session Includes:
- Certification to be provided at the end of the session.
- Lunch will be provided at the venue
