The Agrivid mill is jointly run by 14 coffee-growing families. The group founded the La Violeta de Desamparados Farmers Association (AGRI-VI-D from the initials of the name of the land, Violeta de Desamparados) to produce high-quality and sustainable coffee.
In addition, many exotic varieties are produced at each of the farms handled by Agrivid. Each variety is a genetically defined variety provided by Costa Rican seed bank Catier in 2007.
The Orange Typica this time is one of those test cultivars, and it is one of the varieties they are looking forward to in the future. Although it is still a young tree as of 2022, its bright and juicy flavor shows its high potential. The amount of production is still small, and it is said that it is a variety with great expectations as the tree grows in the future.
